Our mission
To demystify the ancient arts of fermentation and mixology for the modern hobbyist by delivering clear, reliable, and engaging education, tools, and inspiration.
Our vision
To build the world’s most trusted and vibrant community of culinary creators, where anyone can confidently master the living crafts of brewing, winemaking, mead, baking, and cocktails.
Meet the Creator
There is a unique kind of magic that happens at the intersection of patience, science, and absolute creativity.
For me, it all started with a single kit from a local homebrew supply shop. I brewed my first batch—a classic, crisp Kölsch—right on my kitchen counter. The moment I realized that water, liquid malt extract, hops, and microscopic wild cultures could be guided by time into a flawless craft beverage, I was completely hooked.
From that first brew, I fell down the rabbit hole. I wanted to learn everything. That obsession drove me to dive deep into the entire spectrum of living crafts: from beer, mead, and wine to the rich chemistry of aged cheese and tangy sourdough bread.
From Home Hobbyist to Industry Professional
What began as a kitchen-counter hobby eventually evolved into my career. Today, I work on the front lines of the craft beverage industry as a Production Manager at a local winery and distillery, where I get to scale up the science of making wine and spirits every single day.
Because I believe you should never stop learning, I’ve committed myself to mastering the finer details of the craft. I’m currently a Certified Beer Server and a German Beer Specialist through the prestigious Cicerone Certification Program, and I’m continuously working on advanced industry credentials to sharpen my palate and technical knowledge.
The Science, Art, and the Thrill of Competition
For me, fermentation isn't just sterile data or a quiet, isolated hobby. It thrives on three things:
The Creative Science: I love the strict chemistry of a ferment, but the science is ultimately just a canvas for artistic expression. Every batch is an opportunity to experiment with flavor profiles, push boundaries, and blend tradition with innovation.
The Social Connection: The absolute best part of this craft happens outside the production space. It’s the joy of cracking open a bottle of homebrewed mead or slicing into a fresh wheel of homemade cheese to share with friends around a table.
The Competitive Edge: Let’s be honest—there is a thrill to this. I love the competitiveness of dialing in a recipe, entering a batch into a competition, and seeing how my passion stacks up against fellow artisans. It’s what keeps me sharp and drives me to keep innovating.
Why I Started Fermented Curiosities
I launched Fermented Curiosities in 2026 to build the community I always wanted to be a part of. The worlds of brewing, distilling, and fermenting can sometimes feel incredibly intimidating, buried under gatekeeping or overly academic jargon. This site is designed to change that.
Whether you are a complete beginner looking to brew your very first kit, or an advanced hobbyist looking to dive deep into water chemistry, complex cultures, or custom mixology, you are in the right place. This blog is as much an ongoing learning experience for me as it is a resource for you.
Let's demystify the process, share a drink, and create something alive.
